The “Nem maradunk csendben” (we will not remain silent) rally held in the Hungarian capital was chiefly directed at a new law that could lead to the closure of the private Central European University (CEU), which is founded by US billionaire George Soros, while also dealing with a draft bill designed to discriminate against civic organizations receiving foreign support. Volunteers at the core of Edmonton’s Cross Cancer Institute – Edmonton

Sunday, April 16th, 2017:

Ron Charbonneau pulls up to the front entrance of Edmonton’s Cross Cancer Institute. The retired oil-and-gas worker is one of the volunteers driving patients back and forth to their cancer treatments. “It makes me feel good and it helps them out,” Charbonneau said. “It’s just a nice thing to do.” Every Tuesday for the last four years Charbonneau has been behind the wheel of the free shuttle service.  Amrita Sohanpal and Carol Jane Campbell volunteer in the wig salon of the basement of the Cross Cancer Institute.
